Joining forces with VİMEP in İzmir

The International Konyalılar Confederation continues its contacts aimed at strengthening solidarity among civil society organisations and developing projects that reach different parts of society.

As part of this, President Mehmet Aydoğan and Secretary General Nurten Yıldız visited the İzmir Conscience and Compassion Platform (VİMEP), meeting VİMEP İzmir Provincial Representative Semra Aydın and members of the board.

Social Responsibility Projects on the Table

The meeting, held in a warm atmosphere, looked at social responsibility projects that could be carried out in İzmir and at areas where civil society organisations can act together.

Views were exchanged in particular on developing work for people in need, launching projects that bring different parts of society together, and building lasting partnerships between civil society organisations.

Mehmet Aydoğan: “We Must Produce Work That Reaches All of Society”

International Konyalılar Confederation President Mehmet Aydoğan drew attention to the social responsibility that civil society organisations carry, stressing that their work should not be limited to their own members.

Aydoğan said that, as a Confederation, they attach great importance to projects that grow solidarity and reach people in need, and that they are ready to join forces with other civil society organisations.

“The strength of civil society comes from its ability to reach every part of society and to come together around shared values. As the International Konyalılar Confederation, we are ready to contribute to every effort that grows solidarity, reaches people in need and strengthens our social unity,” Aydoğan said.

Joint Work Will Be Developed in İzmir

VİMEP İzmir Provincial Representative Semra Aydın and the board members expressed their pleasure at the visit and said they were open to cooperation on joint projects that will strengthen social solidarity in İzmir.

At the end of the meeting, which Confederation Secretary General Nurten Yıldız also attended, the two organisations agreed to stay in contact, identify areas for joint projects and put concrete work into practice in the coming period.

Alongside its work based on social responsibility, mutual aid and solidarity, the International Konyalılar Confederation will continue to contribute to social unity through its partnerships with other civil society organisations.
