Aid & Solidarity

Standing by families in need during the pandemic

KONVAK–KONFED President Mehmet Aydoğan said they had set out with the motto “Today is a day of unity, a day of togetherness, a day of solidarity”, delivering food parcels to a thousand families in need throughout Ramadan and giving clothes to 100 children.

Thanking KONVAK’s board members, the presidents of KONFED’s member associations and the donors, Aydoğan said: “I wish all our people a happy Ramadan Bayram, with health and well-being.”

“A Day of Unity”, a poem by folk poet Adem Kenger

We share the poem written by Kahramanmaraş folk poet Adem Kenger, inspired by KONVAK’s mutual aid campaign.

A DAY OF UNITY

Well done, you think of those in need

This is the day, the day to rally

Charity is humanity’s medicine

God bless, I salute you: a day of unity

On so dark a day you raised a roof

East and west came finely together

The help you gave is high in God’s sight

God bless, I salute you: a day of unity

To those in trouble you came like Hızır

You filled hearts like joy and peace

Those you helped, and you yourselves, were made happy

God bless, I salute you: a day of unity

Devout in faith, with mercy and conscience

We have not forgotten those who lie beneath the earth

You watered your forebears with prayers of mercy

God bless, I salute you: a day of unity

Your care deserves praise from start to finish

God willing, may you live happy and at peace

You rushed to help with brimming hands

God bless, I salute you: a day of unity

You set out for those who had fallen on hard times

I would give my life for soldiers like you

And so you march on to victory

God bless, I salute you: a day of unity

Adem says: may my Lord be pleased with you

You brewed a fine brew in our hearts

You have brought great joy to all the world

God bless, I salute you: a day of unity
