1st Traditional Spring Festival and Grand Spring Picnic

The programme, attended by about 15,000 people, was joined by İzmir MP Hüseyin Kocabıyık and retired Chief Public Prosecutor Celal Kocabaş, as well as many industrialists and business people.
The programme opened with a commemoration of our martyrs and continued with lokma served to the recitation of the Holy Qur’an. Our President Mehmet Aydoğan, together with our MP Hüseyin Kocabıyık, roasted the flour halva typical of the Konya region and served it to the guests.
The programme was presented by Mehmet Bozdağ, whose poems and presentation were much admired, and Sami Çelik took the stage as the artist of the day. A folk dance troupe from the Konya region gave a performance, and there were emotional moments when the Mehter band took the stage. Torku handed out 10,000 products such as ayran, şalgam, cake and butter to the guests. Guests shared the food they had brought with one another in a fine example of solidarity.
The Konyalılar Federation brought together the Konyalılar of İzmir at the Great Spring Picnic. AK Party İzmir MP Hüseyin Kocabıyık also attended the picnic, later visiting the festival organised by the İzmir Yörük Association.
